GET SOME DIRT ON KYE FORTE
Just moments before Kye Forte joined some of the world’s best riders on the Gorge Road dirt park, we caught up with the Dirt Jumping World Champion and quizzed him about Red Bull Roast It, the return of Empire Of Dirt and what else he’s most excited about for this year.
Will this be your first time competing on this course in New Zealand?
Yes this is my first time visiting New Zealand. It seems like an amazing place, Queenstown is so nice and it’s rad to see so many people on bikes. The Gorge Road jumps are really fun to ride and well built so it’s all good so far.
What are you most looking forward to?
Other than riding Gorge Road & Roast it, I am keen to get up on the mountain, there seems to be so much to do here. We have a week between this and next week’s contest so I am going to try and take in as much as possible.
Are there any New Zealand riders we should be looking out for?
Everyone is shredding, it’s hard to pick any one rider out at the moment.
How does this course compare to UK ones?
As far as contest courses go this is one of the best I have ridden. It’s a legit set of trails, there need to be more contests like this.
What are you most excited about for this year?
This year is a big one, we have Red Bull Empire Of Dirt back again, lots of shows and some demos too.
Now news has broken for Red Bull Empire Of Dirt, what are the other riders thoughts so far?
All the riders seem stoked about it, everyone has been asking me for years when is Empire back. Now that I can tell them 20th May, it’s a good feeling. Everyone wants in on the rider invite though and we only have space for 36 pros, so it’s a tough one. Can’t wait for May. It’s going to be a lot of work until then, but it will be amazing when it happens!
